About Tea

Black Tea
Black Tea leaves are fully fermented- they are the most processed and therefore the most intense in flavor. Varieties of black tea include Assam, Ceylon, Darjeeling, Keemum, Lapsang, Souchong and Yunnan.

Green & White Tea
Green Tea leaves are not fermented- instead they are withered and steamed, giving the tea a fresh flavor closest to the taste of the leaf itself. As it is the least processed variety, Green tea contains the most antioxidant compounds, most notably EGCG, and has many health benefits, including cancer-preventative properties. Varieties of green tea include Chun Mee, Dragonwell, Gunpowder, Hojcha, Idulgashinna, Matcha and Sencha.

White Tea comes from the bud of the plant rather than the leaf and is, like Green Tea, unfermented. The buds are withered and air dried producing a light, clean and slightly sweet cup of tea. White varieties include Bai Mu Dan, Fujian, Silver Needle and Tribute Eyebrow.

Red Tea
Red Tea is not actually a tea variety, but an herbal tea preparation of the South African herb Roobios. The naturally caffeine-free Roobios leaves are fermented to produce their distinctive reddish-brown color and contain even more antioxidants than green tea.

Herbal Tea
Herbal tea or tisane is any type of non-tea herbal infusion. Revolution offers unique blends featuring Roobios, Mint, Chamomile and other herbs all naturally caffeine free.
